Deeply devoted to her faith, Yossinda is dependent on her religion for guidance and hope in a cruel world . Her brother is chronically ill. Her sister is hopelessly addicted to the popular drug Tinea. The King of the Domi is intent on using and abusing her. But the Saans say that suffering brings salvation. Yossinda believes it with all her heart, until she cannot resist the allure of a handsome newcomer, and the Saans themselves begin to use her for malicious purposes.
